For all you lucky space addicts owning a virtual reality set – this might come as an extra treat. As of now – X: Rebirth is available in a VR edition and it’s completely based on a brand new engine.

The X Rebirth VR Edition is a new standalone game based on X Rebirth: Home of Light, completely redesigned and optimised for a Virtual Reality experience, utilizing the latest advancement in VR technology with the Oculus Rift and Touch as well as the HTC Vive.

Now have in mind that this is not the exact copy of X: Rebirth with VR smacked on top – the game engine is brand new and based on Vulcan, and since the setting is taking place around the happenings in the Home of Light DLC, you will not find the main plot from X: Rebirth in the VR edition.

Since it’s still in early access – you can expect some bugs and glitches, some of which Egosoft acknowledged and has a fix for already.
