Trade data improvements

  • Improvements to the commodity market screen
  • Pips now represent the demand and supply of listed items
  • Cleaner right-hand panel
  • Galactic average price can now be filtered by specific system markets
  • You can search for systems you personally have visited/docked at or scanned the nav-beacon. No need to actually trade in the system to get the data
  • The search displays various stations (with displayed distance from the main star), and show import/export profit
  • Confirming the search filter, the commodity market will show the amount of credits you will earn by hauling the cargo to that exact place
  • Galaxy map has a new filter: "By commodity" that gives you the option to select specific commodities by type and commodity name
  • Map shows green triangles for places that export the filtered item, and blue diamond represents the systems that import that commodity
  • By default, it shows results within 40ly radius with the option of searching longer distances if you've been there
  • The icons will change size depending on how large the export/import need is
  • New map filters - Import price / Export price
  • By highlighting systems on the galaxy map, the popup info will show all markets inside that system and import/export values
  • Map popup has a filter for large landing pads, hide/show planet bases and hide/show ranges on stations
  • Galaxy map popup has a shortcut to put the selected data directly into the commodity market
  • There's a new shortcut to plot a route directly to the selected market
  • Galaxy map has an updated visual for trade routes that shows trending data for the last 24h
  • You can filter even by commander trades in the last 24h. This data is available by using the purchase trending data on the system popup window

New megaship interactions

Besides the various quality of life improvements, Frontier introduced a new gameplay feature that, at the moment, involves megaships. As of the next patch, various new megaships will be found around the bubble that can be interacted with, scanned for various data and even pirated!

  • Jumping next to the ship gives you an info message to scan the structure
  • Ship scans highlight various points of interest that are selectable and scannable (visible under contacts)
  • "Hackable data transmitter" - added data terminals, cargo bays (hackable doors) - you can now pirate large megaships
  • Recon limpet can be used to hack data transmitters and coms arrays
  • All of them drop data/materials
  • If you shoot at the ship it will fight back
  • New updated NPCs and scenarios that come with megaships
  • More pirate/crime respond varieties
  • Using the manifest scanner shows the content of the cargo bay
  • Further scans reveal hatch breaker entrances you can use to hack the doors
  • Defence response will come out in about 10 seconds
  • Turrets can be disabled for a certain amount of time to ease the piracy process
  • Wings can share roles to speed up the process (one hacks, the other takes care of the turrets, third member fights the defence force...)
  • This mechanic will most probably be applied to various stations and installations later on
