Lifeblood – new expansion for EVE: Online and upcoming winter changes
As new technologies for resource acquisition emerge in the form of Upwell Refineries, new moon mining capabilities and refined reaction processes, pirate factions have set their sights on taking a slice of the dwindling resources that remain in New Eden.
With more tools for resource gathering at the hands of capsuleers than ever before, the competition for raw materials and supremacy over space is becoming more heated than ever as the cluster is pushed closer toward the brink of all out conflict.
The next expansion, EVE Online: Lifeblood, will be deployed on Tuesday October 24th, 2017.
Lifeblood brings a whole host of new features and changes to New Eden, including new Upwell Refineries and new moon mining mechanics, along with a complete shake up of moon mineral distribution.
In addition to this, a complete rework of the reactions system will also be included in this deployment, as well as new Pirate Forward Operating bases, the new Mining Ledger, improvements to the interface for The Agency, and a balance pass that sees a wide range of improvements to many hulls available to Alpha pilots.
Also included in this expansion is a brand new feature for high-security space, Resource Wars, which allows capsuleers to assist their chosen empire with resource gathering in combat or mining roles, as part of new collaborative gameplay content for New Eden.
The Agency - Warzone Extraction
In celebration of the release of EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone on September 26th, capsuleers across the cluster will be able to get involved in a new event from The Agency – Warzone Extraction.
This time, The Agency pits capsuleers against Drifter forces, with the objective of accessing a Drifter controlled area, and extracting valuable cargo from within their domain.
NPE Improvements – New Empire Selection
As part of the improved New Player Experience, new capsuleers will be introduced to the empires of New Eden with fresh new content on character creation. This will include new audio and user interface experiences, which will initially be tested among a selection of new accounts over the course of the fall.
Debris Visual Renovation
As part of the ongoing commitment to keeping New Eden as visually stunning as possible, capsuleers will be able to enjoy improved textures, which will be upgraded with the September release in order to take advantage of the latest shaders.
Improved Firing Effects
All stretch effects for weapon firing have been re-worked for the September release. This includes improved lighting and impact effects for Energy, Hybrid and Projectile weapons which eliminate clipping and give secondary reflections of weapon lighting on the hulls of vessels.
With the September release, industrialists and traders can rejoice and enjoy a new market ticker, which will scroll the prices of the most common and popular items on the markets of New Eden across the bottom of their market windows.
The September release brings even more improvements to the NPE for new players, with new audio samples for Inception, as well as updates to text and visuals.
New Moon Mining Skills
With a whole new way of gathering moon minerals just around the corner, new skills will be seeded with the September release in order to allow capsuleers across New Eden to prepare for the coming race for resources.
In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of CCP Games, every purchase of a ticket to both Fanfest 2017 and EVE Vegas 2017 will be rewarded with a Marshal class CONCORD Battleship.
Under CONCORD command, the Marshal is the last word in maintaining interstellar peace. Flown by the most seasoned and experienced CONCORD pilots, it has remained the mainstay vessel of CONCORD for almost a century and will prove a formidable opponent, even with its CONCORD mandated weapons hardware stripped out.
The Marshal will be distributed after EVE Vegas 2017, in a winter release.
The next class of capsuleer-built structures are arriving, putting even more industrial power in the hands of pilots throughout New Eden!
Refineries will revolutionize how consumable resources are harvested and processed in New Eden, and will become the premier structure for capsuleers to use when collecting, processing, refining and reprocessing.
This new line of structures will offer an entirely new method of moon mining, and improve the ability to carry out reactions by utilizing the industry UI for the process, allowing capsuleers to streamline their industrial workflows like never before.
With the arrival of refineries, capsuleers will now be able to carry out moon mining operations directly via these structures, transforming the process from an entirely passive form of income into an active form of gameplay that promotes collaboration and conflict.
The arrival of refineries heralds a rework of reactions, wherein they will be moved into the industry UI and will be a process exclusive to refinery structures.
With a simplified interface for ease of use by pilots of all levels of industrial expertise, the new reactions system will bring a more coherent and clear process to the fingertips of both veteran and rookie industrialists.
As pirate forces encroach on the borders of New Eden’s sovereign nations, capsuleers are being contracted to assist with resource gathering operations in high security space. Forming part of resource gathering expeditions as combat or mining pilots, capsuleers both young and old will be able to take part in collaborative gameplay with other capsuleers to assist their chosen empire with the release of EVE Online: Lifeblood.
Pirate Forward Operating Bases
Increased conflict over dwindling resources across New Eden has caused the Guristas and Blood Raiders to expand their influence and industrial capability, staging daring raids into high-security space which lies under the sovereignty of the empires.
New pirate Forward Operating Bases – or FOBs – have been spotted across New Eden, creating new opportunities for groups of likeminded capsuleers to band together and work toward driving out the threat.
Scan them down and hit them hard to reap the rewards from defeating hostile forces.
Alpha Ship Balance Pass
With the deployment of EVE Online: Lifeblood, there’ll be a sizable balance pass to many of the hulls popular among Alpha pilots, in order to give them a little more punch, including a few slot layout and bonus changes that aim to shake up the combat meta a little, and provide new tactical options for these classes of hull.
Improvements To The Agency
With the arrival of EVE Online: Lifeblood, many user experience improvements will be made to the interface for The Agency, including the ability to find gameplay sessions with likeminded pilots so that capsuleers can collaborate on exploration, mining, combat and other aspects of life in space together.
With the advent of new mining technologies, capsuleers will be able to utilize detailed information on their mining history, as well as those who’re mining in their space to monitor efficiency and raw materials output from their resource gathering operations.
To put control of nullsec space firmly in the hands of capsuleers, this winter pilots will see a transformation of existing conquerable stations, when they will be replaced by faction citadels.
Whichever organization controls the conquerable station at the time of the conversion will be granted the faction citadel, and landmarks will be created to preserve the heritage of battles fought over these sought-after structures.
The pirate factions of New Eden continue their arms race for supremacy, as the Guristas Pirates are next to branch out into mass manufacture of capital class vessels.
Refusing to sit idle and spectate as the Blood Raiders build a formidable fleet, the Guristas now have their own production facilities which contain highly valuable blueprints for their capital ship designs.
With the winter expansion, capsuleers can look forward to assaulting these shipyards in order to get their hands on very rare blueprints for highly capable and advanced capital class vessels.
