The upcoming release coming to EVE Online is scheduled for next Tuesday, December 11th and it brings new ships, a start to overhauling war decs and a holiday event!

Downtime will begin at the usual time of 11:00 UTC and will run for a total of 30 minutes. It is expected that Tranquility will be back online and accepting connections by 11:30 UTC.

The December release brings a whole host of features and improvements, including the first iteration on wardec changes, as well as the new Rodiva and Zarmazd class Triglavian logistics cruisers and remote repair modules to complement them.

Certain types of planets in New Eden will start to see the rare appearance of Auroras at their poles, and the Etana class Alliance Tournament prize cruiser also receives a unique new model.

In addition to this, quality of life and balance changes will be packaged with this release, including a number of UI and UX tweaks, as well as improved new player experience flow and adjustments to the respawn rates of certain nullsec anomalies.

War Declaration Balance - Part One

The December release will see the first iterations on balance to war declarations, with further tweaks to come in early 2019. Part one focuses on ensuring that corporations will only be vulnerable to war declarations if they have certain assets in space – either an Upwell Structure, a Starbase or a Customs Office.

Several other small tweaks to the war declaration system will also be included in the December release. (check out the full article)

Triglavian Logistics Cruisers

Triglavian logistics

To round off this year's additions to the Triglavian ship tree, the December release will see the introduction of the Rodiva class tech I cruiser and its tech II counterpart, the Zarmazd class logistics cruiser.

These two hulls will benefit from an all new Triglavian themed remote repair module designed around the same weapons characteristics as the Triglavian Entropic Disintegrator.

Operation Permafrost

A mysterious third party has contracted The Agency to disrupt the operations of Outer Ring Excavations over the course of the winter. For the first time ever, capsuleer vessels will graze the atmosphere of planets in New Eden, venturing into low orbit installations that offer challenges and activities of all types that range from mining and gas harvesting to combat and hacking.

Resources and loot from these installations can then be used to build all manner of new and useful hardware, so be sure to venture in and grab what you can to reap the rewards of Operation Permafrost!

Operation Permafrost will run from December 18th through to January 2nd.

The Operation Permafrost event promises new and exciting challenges, visuals and content! Enjoy exclusive rewards such as blueprints for brand new Mordu's Legion and Frostline modules, exclusive Operation Permafrost SKINs, as well as limited time Boosters and Cerebral Accelerators.

An unknown third party has enlisted your help in disrupting ORE Frostline's operations around the northern polar regions of a mysterious ice dwarf, but beware of the Mordu's Legion ships protecting them!

How to participate

Here's how you can go about investigating the mysterious ice dwarf, occurring once per constellation. Access the Operation Permafrost objectives via The Agency in the Neocom menu in game. Then, decide what objective you're going to tackle across a variety of challenges. Finally, set course and start racking up those Event points for any objectives completed, eventually unlocking rewards with your gathered points. You can now also keep track of your challenge progress from the info panel, as well as claiming your challenge rewards and getting quick access to The Agency home.

Limited time rewards

Operation Permafrost rewards you with exclusive items available only by playing and completing the event. Get blueprints for brand new Frostline and Mordu's Legion modules, as well as the exclusive Operation Permafrost SKIN with awesome snow effects for the Merlin, Omen, Hurricane and Megathron ships. You can also get limited time Boosters and Cerebral Accelerators as a reward for completing objectives and racking up those Event points.
